What makes Edinburgh Festival Rentals different?

The team at Edinburgh Festival Rentals, are all landlords ourselves so we understand the process and know that it’s the attention to detail that makes the difference. We pride ourselves on matching the landlord and the guests’ needs to make sure everyone is catered for.

We specialise in securing full month bookings from entertainment industry professionals and performers. With comprehensive lease documentation which has been specifically drafted for festival bookings, we make sure everything is in order.

What do I need to do?

A member of the Edinburgh Festival Rentals Team will meet you in the property to talk through our services and give feedback to make sure your property is right for a festival rental. Our service is adaptable, we can fully manage your festival let for you, and take care guests checking in and provide 24 hour maintenance support, or if you wish to be more hands on, we provide a booking only service.

Please contact us for details of all our services, and to arrange a free property appraisal.

What is my property likely to rent for?

Edinburgh Festival Rentals are able to provide a rental estimate in line with the location, size and condition of your property.

What are my responsibilities?

Your property must be structurally sound, with a provision of heating and hot water. You must arrange landlord insurance for shorts lets, and ensure the property is clean including kitchen wear, linen, towels and spares.

Do I require Safety certificates?

As a minimum legal requirement we require all properties to have Landlord Gas Safety Certificate, functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. In addition we strongly recommend that Landlords have electrical checks carried out too.

Is a provision of Wi-Fi required?

This is necessary – guests are unlikely to book accommodation without it.

Do I need to provide linen and towels?

Yes, beds should be freshly made, with a change of linen per bed, and 2 towels per guest.

Do I need an inventory?

We recommend every property has an inventory drawn up to record the condition of the property which can be given to the guests at Check In. Edinburgh Festival Rentals can arrange a professional inventory if you wish.

Please refer to the Terms of Business for further information.

When do I get paid?

We take a deposit against every booking, the rental payment is then taken prior to the guests stay at the property. Payment of rent is made as soon as the deposit return status has been approved by the landlord. This is to ensure that the tenant deposit is settled as quickly as possible.

Life after the festival

Edinburgh Festival Rentals is now part of the Rettie &Co. Group. It’s ideally placed to showcase your property, and as part of the Rettie & Co. Group, we can let your property on a Short Assured Tenancy Year Round.

We specialise in structuring academic tenancies, to then allow you to secure the financial uplift from a festival let. We would be delighted to speak to you regarding this, please contact us and we can advise as to the best course of action for your property.
